LogWiz |
|
|
Description |
LogWiz creates logs of chat text in either plain text or full color. You can
choose which types messages it logs, add timestamps to every line of the log, make separate logs for
each character, choose which characters it will log for and more. It will make a new log file
each day so you don't have huge logs to sort through. |

Message Types Tab
Select which chat types will be written to the log. The message groups are based on
their color (except trade/buff bots, which are any white or gray messages that have
<t> or -b- in them). |

|
Notes |
- Logs are stored in the Logs directory under the plugin's
installation folder. Remember where you install it! Default is
C:\Program Files\Decal Plugins\LogWiz
- To view XML logs, open them in a web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
- If you plan to dual log in AC, be sure to use the XML logging option instead of text.
- Type /logwiz help for a list of chat commands.
- The "stealth mode" option will remove the LogWiz window from Decal, and disable any
chat messages from the plugin, including errors (these messages will still be written
in the log). LogWiz will still respond to chat commands, and will still be visible
in the Decal Agent, where you enable/disable plugins. Type
/logwiz stealth off to disable stealth mode.
- For advanced users: LogWiz uses an XSLT file to display the XML logs. This file is
in the Logs/_files/ directory. Feel free to edit the file if you want. If you want
to go back to the original: delete the modified XSLT, log into AC, start logging, then
log out.

Known Bugs |
- If you use XML logging, and log many messages for an entire day, LogWiz will
tend to use a lot of RAM. I intend to change this in the future, but for now, I'd
recommend not logging combat messages, or not logging for too long in any given day.
Note: the amount of RAM required is about the same as the size of the log file, which
will probably be on the order of 1-10 MB.

Version History |
LogWiz v2.0.0.0 August 1, 2006 |
- Completely rewrote LogWiz. Now works with Decal 3 Alpha.
- Changed log output from HTML to XML. This could allow for other programs
to read/display the logs, for you to be able to look at old logs in-game,
etc.
|
LogWiz v1.0.2 July 20, 2004 |
- LogWiz now uses Imp Filter instead of Character Stats Filter, to fix a
problem some people were having with Character Stats. You only need to
download this if you're getting error messages with previous versions.
|
LogWiz v1.0.1 July 1, 2004 |
- Fixed logs to work with Mozilla browsers (logs made by previous
versions will still only work with Internet Explorer)
- New options to hide the in-game UI and suppress error messages.
Coupled with the already-present option to make it have a quiet
startup, this will make LogWiz transparent. Type /logwiz help
for info on how to do this.
- Made some changes to prevent the settings file from getting corrupted.
